Commencing operations in 1995 with 41 students, two teachers and two demountables, the school has grown steadily with the introduction of the high school in 2005. With the commencement of Stage 6 from 2014, students have the opportunity to complete their K-12 education on the one campus. We offer an innovative approach to the HSC where students focus on fewer subjects each year and sit their HSC exams over two years.
Our purpose is to equip and empower our students to reach their God given potential. MCS is committed to bringing students to life and helping prepare them to thrive in an ever changing world. This includes not only the development of fundamental skills such as reading and writing, but also skills such as creative, critical and disciplined thinking, imagination, communication, accountability, problem solving and learning how to learn.
Our students excel in their learning and gain confidence through relevant and engaging learning experiences. Results in statewide and national tests provide evidence of the dedication, skill and hard work of our teachers and students, and reflect the school's ongoing commitment to academic achievement. Students also enjoy a wide range of co-curricular activities such as sport (with regional, state and national success), academic competitions, camps and excursions, and the creative and performing arts (including musicals, choirs and vocal ensembles).
MCS is committed to nurturing the whole child with personal development initiatives, such as student leadership programs, Shine, Strength, self esteem and social awareness programs, as well as learning support programs, chaplaincy and counsellor/psychologist support. The development of values, ethics and character is embedded throughout school life.
Service and Mission are an integral part of our school culture and provide students with opportunities to help fulfill the vision of the school by serving others in the community, both locally and globally.
Our facilities are ever improving and cater for a wide range of specialised subjects and activities. An 800 seat multipurpose centre features a full competition size basketball court and large performance stage with excellent theatre-style lighting and audio, supporting the school's strong sporting and performing arts focus . In 2015, the school presented 'The Sound of Music' musical and received incredible appreciation and accolades from our community.
MCS is a vibrant and growing school and we believe that the best is yet to come.
