Building continues

Meet Bob, affectionately known as Bob the Builder, Site Foreman of the MCS construction site. Bob and our Special Projects Officer Garry Couper are pictured below.

Demolition of the old admin building is now complete and the next phase of leveling and preparation of the foundation of the new admin building is well underway.

Safety is of the highest priority with checks and reviews performed daily to ensure the safety of our students, staff and parents are paramount.

The new administrative building is scheduled to be completed by April 2017.

A whole new chapter in our school history began in mid August, as building work commenced on the Administration building. The students have been fascinated by what is going on over the big fence, with abseilers, mulchers, chainsaws and bobcats clearing the way for what will soon be concrete trucks, carpenters and other tradies. By late August, the building-muncher-monster-machine (not sure if that is the official name) had done its work and the old admin was no more. In early September, the vibrating-super-roller certainly shook the Primary and Science block up. Soon after the King-of-the-castle-digger got itself a lofty vantage point from which to scoop out tons of soil for the cut and fill.

We would like to thank everyone for your patience and cooperation during the next nine or so months as we adjust to changes in access to the school, noise and reduced play-space. Access to the school from the church carpark is now via the lower gate.

Please help to keep the bus bays and staff carpark free from parking congestion by parking your vehicle and dropping off / picking up only from the church carpark. If you are visiting the office admin, it is still OK to park in the visitors carpark near the office.
