Last Friday Stage 1 dressed in period costume and travelled to Wauchope to visit Timbertown in order to better understand life in the past. The highlights included gold panning in Cedar Creek, traveling on the heritage steam train and a horse and carriage ride around town.

The bullock demonstration was impressive. Mrs Deppeler drove the bullocks with some commands  which they responded to immeditely.  The boys had a tug of war with the bullock team but couldn’t hold them. The girls however were triumphant and managed with sheer strength (and some sneaky commands from the boss) to pull them back!

Observing the blacksmith at work and visiting the steam sawmill were fascinating and there was something to tempt everyone in the General Store/Ice Creamery.

Alas, the day came to an end, all too soon, and we boarded the bus to return to the 21st Century.

Many thanks to our parent helpers who made the day a huge success.
